Her upbringing included three siblings, including two sisters and a brother. Hungarian was the first language she learned and she practiced it regularly to guarantee proficiency. Bruckner was born in Hollywood California to a Hungarian father as well as an Russian mother who have since divorced. Her paternal grandfather is German. The couple came together in Hungary and relocated to the U.S. in 1984 through a refugee camp in Italy. There is a sister and a brother.
